1. BabyJoys Is Intended for Parents and Caregivers
BabyJoys is intended to be used and managed by parents, legal guardians, and adult caregivers. It is not intended for babies or young children to create accounts or independently submit personal information.
Parents and guardians may voluntarily create profiles containing information about their children. The adult creating or sharing a child's profile is responsible for having the authority to provide that information to BabyJoys and to share it with other caregivers.
BabyJoys is designed to minimize the amount of children's personal information necessary to provide its features.
2. Information We May Collect
When you use BabyJoys, we may collect information that you voluntarily provide to operate your account and baby profiles. Depending on the features you use, this information may include:
Account information: such as a parent's or caregiver's name, email address, account identifier, and authentication information.
Baby profile information: such as a baby's name or nickname and information voluntarily associated with that baby's profile.
Favorites: music, TV shows, recipes, activities, foods, entertainment, or other favorites entered by the parent or caregiver.
Schedules and checklists: routines, schedules, tasks, reminders, and other information a user chooses to save.
Shared-profile information: information necessary to create and manage links that allow authorized caregivers to view a baby profile.
Voice input: audio or speech information provided when a user chooses to use the AI-powered voice-input feature.
Technical information: limited information necessary to maintain account security, troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse, and operate BabyJoys.
Parents and caregivers should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information about a child, including Social Security numbers, financial information, precise location, medical records, passwords, or other information that BabyJoys does not specifically request.
3. Children's Information
BabyJoys recognizes that information associated with babies and children requires additional protection. BabyJoys does not intentionally ask children to create accounts or directly provide personal information.
Information about a baby or child is provided and managed by a parent, guardian, or authorized adult caregiver. We use this information only as necessary to provide the features requested by the account holder, such as maintaining baby profiles, organizing favorites, managing schedules and checklists, and allowing parents to share profiles with trusted caregivers.
Where the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") or another children's privacy law applies, BabyJoys will take appropriate measures regarding notice, parental consent, access, deletion, security, and data minimization. The FTC explains that covered services must give parents control over children's information, including appropriate rights to review and delete information and prevent further collection.
4. How We Use Information
BabyJoys may use information to provide and maintain the app, authenticate accounts, create and manage baby profiles, save favorites, maintain schedules and checklists, provide requested AI-assisted features, enable caregiver sharing, secure accounts, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, improve app functionality, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell children's personal information.
We do not use a baby's profile information for behavioral or personalized advertising.
We do not use children's information to build advertising profiles.
We do not intentionally collect precise location information from babies or children.
These restrictions are consistent with the heightened protections applied to children's information and family-oriented apps. Google Play, for example, places specific restrictions on children's data, advertising identifiers, precise location, and SDKs used in apps targeting children.
5. AI Voice Input
BabyJoys may provide an optional AI-powered voice-input feature that allows an adult user to speak instead of typing when adding a new favorite or other information.
When this feature is activated, voice input may be processed to convert speech into text and complete the user's requested action. BabyJoys will only use voice information for the purposes disclosed to the user and as necessary to provide the requested functionality.
Parents and caregivers should not intentionally record a child's voice through this feature unless BabyJoys specifically indicates that the feature supports such use and all required permissions and consents have been obtained.
Microphone access will only be requested when necessary for voice-enabled functionality and subject to the device's permission controls.
6. Sharing Baby Profiles With Caregivers
BabyJoys allows parents or authorized account holders to share baby profiles with trusted caregivers using a shared profile link. Depending on the profile configuration, a caregiver with access to the link may be able to view information such as the baby's favorites, activities, recipes, TV shows, music, checklists, and schedules.
Parents should only share profile links with people they trust. Anyone who receives or obtains access to a valid shared link may potentially be able to view the information available through that link.
BabyJoys should therefore be used with the same care you would use when sharing other private family information online.
Where available, users should revoke or replace a shared link when a caregiver no longer needs access.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
BabyJoys may use trusted service providers to support functions such as cloud hosting, authentication, database storage, security, email delivery, and AI or speech-processing capabilities.
Service providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform services on behalf of BabyJoys and must handle that information according to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
Before publishing BabyJoys, this section should identify the actual categories and, where required, identities of third-party providers and SDKs that receive personal information. COPPA guidance specifically requires covered operators to address third parties that collect or receive children's personal information.
8. Advertising and Tracking
BabyJoys does not use children's profile information for targeted or personalized advertising.
If BabyJoys is offered as an app directed to children or includes children in its declared target audience, any advertising, analytics, SDKs, identifiers, and tracking technologies must comply with applicable children's privacy requirements and the relevant app-store policies.
Google Play specifically restricts advertising identifiers and other device identifiers for apps targeting children, while Apple's Kids Category places substantial restrictions on third-party advertising and analytics.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information maintained by BabyJoys against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include encrypted network communications, authentication controls, access restrictions, secure hosting practices, and other safeguards appropriate to the information being processed.
However, no online service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their BabyJoys account credentials and carefully control who receives shared baby-profile links.
10. Data Retention
BabyJoys retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested services, maintain an active account, meet legitimate operational requirements, resolve disputes, protect the security of the service, and satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Information concerning children should not be retained indefinitely simply because it was collected. When the information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, it will be deleted or de-identified in accordance with applicable requirements.
The FTC specifically requires covered services to establish appropriate retention and deletion procedures for children's personal information.
11. Parent and Guardian Rights
Subject to applicable law, a parent or legal guardian may request to:
Access information BabyJoys maintains about their child.
Correct inaccurate information.
Delete information associated with their child.
Delete a baby profile.
Withdraw applicable consent.
Prevent further collection or use of their child's personal information.
Request deletion of their account and associated information.
Revoke caregiver access where that functionality is available.
BabyJoys will take reasonable steps to verify that a person making a request has appropriate authority over the account or child's information before fulfilling the request.
These controls are particularly important under COPPA, which provides parents with rights concerning access, deletion, and continued collection of children's information.
12. Account and Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their BabyJoys account, individual baby profiles, or associated personal information through available account settings or by contacting BabyJoys.
Following a valid deletion request, applicable information will be removed from active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or another lawful purpose.
Residual information contained in encrypted backups may remain temporarily until those backups are securely overwritten or deleted according to normal retention schedules.
13. Parental Consent
Because BabyJoys is designed for adults to manage information about babies and children, the account holder represents that they are the child's parent, legal guardian, or otherwise have appropriate authorization to provide and manage the information.
If BabyJoys begins collecting personal information directly from children under 13, additional COPPA requirements may apply, including direct notice to parents and verifiable parental consent before collection, use, or disclosure, subject to limited exceptions.
14. International Users
BabyJoys may be accessible from locations outside the United States. Privacy and children's-data requirements differ between countries and regions.
Where required, BabyJoys will take appropriate measures to comply with applicable privacy requirements concerning children's information, parental consent, data access, deletion, international transfers, and other data-protection obligations.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BabyJoys grows, introduces new features, changes service providers, or responds to legal and regulatory requirements.
The updated policy will display a revised Last Updated date. When required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain appropriate consent before materially changing how children's personal information is collected, used, or disclosed.
